What Is Final Expense Insurance?
Final expense insurance is a smaller whole life policy meant to take care of costs your family faces after you pass, such as a funeral or cremation, unpaid medical bills, or other debts. Because it is permanent coverage, it stays in place as long as premiums are paid.
How Is Term Life Different From Whole Life?
Term life covers you for a set number of years, such as 10, 20, or 30, and is usually the lower-cost way to get a larger benefit. Whole life lasts your entire life, has premiums that typically stay level, and builds cash value over time.
What Is Mortgage Protection Insurance?
Mortgage protection is life insurance sized around your home loan. If you pass away, the benefit goes to the people you name, not the bank, so they can pay down the mortgage or use the money however they need to stay in the home.
What Is an IUL?
An indexed universal life (IUL) policy is permanent coverage with a cash value account. The interest credited to that account is tied to how a market index performs, with limits on both the upside and the downside. Your money is not invested directly in the market.
Do I Need a Medical Exam?
Not always. Many of the plans we offer ask a short list of health questions instead of requiring an exam or blood work. Whether you qualify for a no-exam plan depends on your age, health, the carrier, and the amount of coverage.
How Quickly Does Coverage Start?
Some plans can take effect the day you're approved, while others take longer to underwrite. Certain final expense plans include a waiting period for natural causes based on health history. Your agent will explain the timing for any plan before you apply.
How Fast Are Benefits Paid Out?
Once a claim is filed with a death certificate and the needed forms, many carriers pay within a few weeks. Timing depends on the carrier and the circumstances, and claims within the first two years of a policy may take longer to review.
How Much Does Life Insurance Cost?
Price depends on your age, health, tobacco use, the type of policy, and the coverage amount. Many final expense plans fit within a modest monthly budget. The best way to know your cost is to request a free, no-obligation quote.
How Do I Get a Quote?
Fill out the short form on our home page or our quote page. A licensed agent will reach out, ask a few questions, and walk you through options that fit your budget. You can meet by phone, video, or in person.
Which States Are You Licensed In?
We're licensed in a growing number of states and add new ones regularly. Check the list at the bottom of any page, or email us to ask whether we can help in your state.
Is There Any Cost or Obligation to Talk With an Agent?
No. Quotes and conversations with our agents are free, and you're never obligated to buy anything.
Can I Choose Who Receives the Benefit?
Yes. You name your beneficiaries when you apply, and with most policies you can update them later if your situation changes.
General information only. Coverage, benefits, and availability vary by carrier, plan, and state.
